Dal Baati


Rajasthani cuisine is one of the rare dishes of India which has unique and never ending plant. It is one of those dishes in which the entire plate is served with sweet, spicy and bread as well as savory dishes.
Ingredients :-
For baati
  • 2 cups wheat flour / ata
  • Salt Spoon Salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ cup ghee / clarified butter
  • Water to knead

FOR DAL:

  •  ½ cup moong dal 
  •  ¼ cup masoor dal
  •  ¼ cup chana dal  soaked 30 minutes
  •  3 cup water 
  • 3 tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • 1 pinch hing 
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 1 tomatochopped
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp corianderchopped

  • Method :-
  • 1.first take 2 cups wheat flour, teaspoon salt, in teaspoon baking powder and he cup ghee in a large bowl.
  •  2.mix well to ensure that the dough is moist.
  • 3.now add water as required and knead the dough.
  • 4.pinch a small ball-shaped dough and roll it with an X mark.
  • 5.place rolled wick in each mold of your pan
  • 6.cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
  • 7.dip the wick in ghee for a softer wick than inside.
  • 9.now take 1 cup moong dal, 1 cup masoor dal and 1 cup chana dal in a pressure cooker.
  • 10.cook pressure by adding 1 tsp ghee and 3 cups of water for 4 whistles
  • 11.now add 2 tsp ghee and 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp cumin and pinch hing in a large pan.
  • 12.Now add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and 1 green chili after 1 onion, add 1 tomato and fry well
  • 13.add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp garama masala and 1 tsp salt. 14.saute on low flame and add 1 cup of water to the cooked dal and mix
  • 15.Now add coriander leaves and mix well.
  • 16.now finally, enjoy dal baati churma with onion and chilli slices
